My Baby Indian Ringneck has Dry Skin!?

Hi, I have a 1 week and 3 day old baby indian ringneck that i am handfeeding. I posted a question before about his dry skin and i was told to use Vitamin E oil. So i bought a bottle and have been applying it to his dry skin once daily. I just wanted to know if it was safe and continue or should i use the vitamin E oil twice daily?

Also how old are they when they open their eyes?

Thank You
Hopefully he is still with his parents and they are also feeding him. It is vital for his immune system that he also be parent fed for awhile. Unless directed by an Avian vet, you should never use any type of product like that for a bird. The only natural thing that is safe is aloe juice, straight from the plant. Not in a bought product. Get yourself a plant, cut an arm from it, slice it open, mix with warm water and mist him with it. But, he should not have dry skin if the humidity is correct and if he is still with his parents when not getting a feeding. Are you making sure your hands are totally clean before handling him? If there is any residue of anything on your hands, that could be drying and irritating his skin.
