is it because he hasnt got my trust yet or is he just a bitter?
You got it. Your galah might have been frigtened by human hands before you got it. People walk by and stick finger in his cage so of course he doesn't like them.
But, he does like you. The fact that he follow you can tries to eat from you mouth shows that he understands you are a friend and are safe. Birds will often try to eat from your mouth because they know that if you're about to eat it, then it's safe for them to eat it. He just doesn't understand that your fingers are also safe. Conditioned fear.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com What you need to do is figure out his favourite food. Train him to understand that your hands are 'nice.' Have a small portion of your food at your mouth. He loves it. Have a larger portion in your hand. Bring the hand up gently to your shoulder in an upward curved position. He'll be wary and might bite. Stand your ground. While he finishes the small portion of food at your mouth, he'll want more and will attempt to eat from your hand. It might take a long time and he might do fake bites but over time, he'll eat normally.
Remember, always have your fingers curled slightly like you are texting with one hand on a phone like this:

A second battle plan is head scratches. I have never come across a parrot that doesn't like them. Even the tough ones that bite to blood, as soon as you can get past and star ruffling his feathers, he'll realize in a little bit that fingers=head scratch=good.
