That would be extremely bazar. Ducks, and chickens are fowl, but they aren't the same. Chickens breed with chickens, ducks with ducks. Breeding a cross between fowl is next to impossible. (Notice I didn 't say impossible)
http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/BRKHy ... take a look at this . Hybrids of such kind have happened before, though there is not a record of chicken x duck. To do this would be like winning the lottery twice in one year.
Laying mash gives the hen the proper nutrients to lay eggs healthily. Though a healthy bird helps increase the chances of fertility, working within the same kind is of essence. If you want fertile hatching eggs get some from someone breeding chickens, or ducks. Or invest in some hens for yourself, or a drake.
I have heard from others, but didn't have this experience with my two ducks, that mating from ducks x chickens can actually cause damage and hurt the females rather roo x duck, or duck x hen.

The duck will lay eggs because that is what ducks do but they can't be fertilised by the rooster, 2 entirely different species so no they won't hatch. You'd need a male duck for that to happen.
I've had roosters attempt to mate with ducks when they are young and confused.
Layers mash contains the nutrients necessary for egg laying, nothing to do with whether eggs are fertile or not.
Probably not since the two species are different in many ways.
