it has a big hole in it but its been about 18 hrs and there is nothing new
You should wait a couple more hours and see what happends.;)
It can take a while for them to hatch out, is it in an incubator or under a bird? If its in an incubator is the humidity high enough, one reason chicks fail to hatch out is the humidity is too low. It should be increased from 45% to 65% for the final 3 (non turning) days.
If the egg is still wobbling a lot and the chick is peeping there is hope, if its still and quiet then I don't think it will hatch sadly.
