i was going to get 2 buff plymouth rocks but when i saw the araucana i just had to have them i got 2 hens for ￡ 20 as the farmer guy knew how i kept my chickens is it true they lay 'blue' eggs' and are they flighty?
If they are true Araucana hens then they will lay blue eggs. If they lay any other color then some other blood has been mixed in, and they would be called Easter Eggers.
As for flighty that really depends on the bird. From what I heard they are calmer, and can adapt just fine to caged situations. However, if they are adults, and not used to being handled, they will most likely be a little paranoid from people, and try to escape from you, which could make them seems/be flighty. If such is the case, give them some time to get used to you. I find feeding them, being calm, talking to them, and holding/petting them at night to be a good start to getting birds used to you.
