My green-wing is bald help!!!?

I have a 12yo green-wing macaw and about a month ago I got pnuemonia and had to go to the hospital, I was gone for two weeks, and in my absents he picked his entire body bald. What I do? Ialso have a goffin cockatoo, a orange-wing amazon, and a pied cockatiel, and they are all fine.
Aww, that's so sad to hear. He got very depressed while you were away. It was like he lost his mate. I had a rescued Conure that did this because his owner had given him away. He wasn't abused just depressed. Give your bud a lot of attention and love, keep him close. His feathers will grow back once he mults. You can try to help him by getting some molting sprays, seeing if he might want to play in water. Pet him alot to try to induce preening. It will take time but he will be okay. I wish you both the best of luck.
Oh, your poor bird! He probably got bored when you were gone (I understand you were unable to provide him the necessary attention) and plucked all his feathers. If you give him reason to not be bored again, some of his feathers may grow back but most of them probably won't. I'm sorry but I hope you'll still care for your macaw as you did before, even though he is now bald. Your other birds didn't pluck their feathers because they are not as needy for attention as most macaws.

Check his body for any wounds (this sometimes happens when a bird has no more feathers to pluck), and if he does appear to have injured himself further, take him to the vet immediately. You do not want an infection on your hands.
Birds sometimes pick their feathers when they're nervous. It was probably stressed with you being gone. Is he still picking at his feathers now that you're back?

Also, it might be a skin problem. Do you give your birds baths? Not soak in water type baths, but let them play in the sink or bathtub while you run some water right down the drain. Sometimes if their skin is dry and/or itchy, they'll pick their feathers to help with it.

However, seeing as it happened when you were gone, it does sound like stress. If that is the case, things should get better now that you're back.

Either way, if you don't give your birds baths, you should do that. It's good for their skin and feathers. Plus they usually love it.
Yep. They pick feathers if they aren't given LOTS of attention! Bring him to the vet, please. Sometimes they will grow back, but in bad cases (like plucking ALL feathers) they won't. Remember, you must STILL love him, even though he is bald!
So he is completely bald? That is ... not ok.I suggest you take it to a vet! I think he go bald because you stayed around him while you had pnuemonia.
