My cockatiel crashed agiasnt a wall?

My cockatiel crashed at a wall, then he drew little blood. Will he die or something please help im scared, i dont have the budget for a vet
You shouldn't have to go to the vet unless lots of blood is coming out. Birds are small, so a lot of blood loss can be very fatal. It's very possible that your bird just broke a blood feather or two. It's probably a good idea to read http://www.cockatielcottage.net/feathers ... for help on how to stop the bleeding from blood feathers. Good luck!
Do NOT wrap your bird in a DAMP towel as the previous poster suggested. Any type of moisture allows mild drafts to chill a bird which will kill it even faster than blood loss. Never ever wrap your bird in anything that is damp.

Where is he bleeding from? If he is bleeding from a wound, he may have a broken bone. He will need vet care. Bleeding from the mouth, eyes, ears or beak may be a sign of severe head trauma. Watch your bird for seisures.

Your birds feathers should be clipped. This is down by pulling it the wing, GENTLY, and with a pair of small scissors, or nail clippers, clipping the tips of the longest 4 feathers. Not too much, just about 1 inch worth off. This prevents your bird from gaining height when flying, but allows it to still slow itself down when falling so it does not crash to the floor.

Flying into a wall is very serious. Birds have hallow bones which is why they are able to be so lightweight and fly. This means their bones are easily broken. Also, birds are much smaller than they look. Your bird has very little blood. 1 drop is similar to 1 pint for us. So, if your bird is actively bleeding, you need to seek vet care immediately. If the bird only had a little bit of blood, and it has stopped, that is good. It may just be a blood feather as some other posters have suggested. However, blood feathers are more common on the wings, which is a part that would not have hit the wall dead on. I'm going to guess the wings were not damaged unless the bird was flying backwards.:) pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Take a tissue, wet it with luke warm water and if the blood is on the birds face, lightly, and gently dab the spot. This will take away some of the blood and you can identify where it is coming from, if it is a blood feather, or if there is an injury the bird sustained due to the collision.

Post additional details if you like and perhaps I can assist you further if I know more about where the blood is coming from.
Blood loss to a bird can be absolutely fatal due to their small bodies. If he doesn't stop bleeding , apply cornstarch or flour to the wound to get the bleeding to stop. If that doesn't work, it's imperative you find a way to get him to the vet. I know it's expensive, but if you love the little guy, it's important . Even if the bleeding does stop it might be a good idea to get him to the vet to see how much damage was caused.
If your bird is bleeding from a broken feather, you can stop the bleeding with a styptic pencil, or ground white pepper. You don't need to pull the feather out - he can do that himself. He will be shocked somewhat from the collision, so you need to keep him quiet, in a small warm place (like a small box on the bottom of his cage). Keep an eye on him. Make sure he's got a little food and water available. Put a bit of unsalted cracker or small piece of dry toast in the box. Talk to him and pet him a little if he's not afraid of you. Good luck!
don't get ANY animal if u can afford to give it proper care. no vet=no animal. some people just go ot and get an animal like its nothing when they raise money for the animal but don't think about tomorrow. what if one day it gets seriously injured? what then? anyways. i dont think it anything major. probably a blood feather. put some corn flour on it and apply slight pressure.
