My parakeet has never been very freindly to me. He used to live with his sister and they were fairly happy together. But a year ago she died and we go a replacement. He hated the replacement and killed her. Now he is super sad and lonely. But anytime i attempt to comfort him, he freaks out. He hates all humans.
GIVE HIM TREATS, BASICLY BRIBE HIM:)
I have two that dont like me as much and two that are kind of " ; ok "with me, and they all are in the same cage. Since you only have one that will make the process MUCH easier. I would start off by taking his favorite food (mine loves its seed) away from the cage for a few hours, just in time to get him nice and hungry. Then hold the bowl/feeder in the cage for about 10-15 min. If he dosnt go for it after about 10min take it away; eventually he will get hungry. Try this again every hour. Soon (like a week to a month) you will have him eating from your hand. When he does this, leave him a little treat in the cage for him to munch on while the feeling returns to your arm, once he is done taking his time eating.
well i do not have a parakeet at home but i do have a cockatiel 2 actually one of them absolutely loves me while the other hates me so i just tend to give him some treats and but i only give him treats if he behaves that way he will come to like you and he gets tame (if he was not already tame) also there is a chance that he does not trust you but thatswith the parakeet itself so another parakeet might like you very quickly so if you buy another parakeet when it is really young and feed him when he is really small then it sees you as its mother then when the other parakeet sees the other one trusts you he might understand that you will not hurt him
unfortunately some animals just dont get along well with humans. my friend had a pet chinchilla once and it hated her, lol but played well with other people
Try to interact with it, play with it. Maybe get another parakeet so he has a friend
