My macaw is 1 year old (I hand fed him since he was 7 weeks old), and now he seems to bite everyone that tries to come near me (besides my family), like my friends and strangers who want to check him out. He used to LOVEEE when people would walk up to him, and scratch under his chin etc ... now I get yelled at (my the moms) when moms come up to me with their little 2-8 year olds, and my bird goes for their fingers. A 4-6 year old little girl flicked his eye, and he bit her, and ever since then he won't let anyone but me and my family near him ... why? I'm really missing the him ! Now I can't go to pet/bird expos with him!: (
I own a B & G macaw, 2 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 3 rats, and 2 ferrets. I am 14 (girl).
Birds can be very picky. Alot of them end up being one person birds, and many of them prefer women over men. they are all different, i guess that's the fun of having one
