2 different species of birds?

Hey guys i have a 7 month old green cheeked conure, and he is so loving and caring i am quite attached to him. There is a bird rehabilitation center near my house who is trying to rehome a male eclectus parrot who is 7 years old and also very friendly. i was wondering if it was bad to have to two species together (not in the same cage) but as in the same room or household. will they fight?? i am not sure any help is appriciated!!!! thanks
there should not really be much of a problem if you keep them in two different cages as i have 2 birds one which i have for a long time and the other is really young and i bought him recently now the one which i had for longer is acting really jealous and is attacking the other one so if you know your bird is jealous (you can see if its jealous if it acts aggressivly when someone tries to take it away from you when he is near you) it would not be a good idea to put them in the same cages however sepparate cages should be ok.
I have 3 types of conures in my home right now and a bonded pair of quakers plus I have had a cockatoo budgies and other birds in with my flock.Just make sure the new bird coming into the home is quarantined for 20 to 30 days before putting them in the same room.Always make sure you bathe yourself when you leave one bird to go to another.Good luck.
