My cockatiel door is a bit small? URGENT?

I had had a budgie a few months ago, and the cage was bigger than average.

it was a brilliant cage and everything, but the only problem was:

every time i let my bird out (while it was on my finger) i had to squeeze my finger down so my budgie's head wouldnt be able to scrape the top of the door.

so in other words; the cage door was too small.

so now i am going to get a cockatiel in a few days, what should i do?

i dont want to get another cage, coz it will finish my pocket money meant for my cockatiel.

PLEASE URGENT QUESTION REPLY

thank you soooooo much !!!!!
Millet is a great treat. Every 3 days or so, give it to them. It is VERY inexpensive and can be used as a tool to train your bird.

I'm really sorry that I can't give you a better answer, but I think that you should buy the cage and accessories before you buy the bird. I bought everything I needed well in advance before I found a breeder. Waiting a little bit longer would be more beneficial for the bird. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

I wish you the best of luck with your new tiel!
Your cage is too small. Plain and simple. If the cage was an appropriate size for a budgie OR cockatiel, they would fit through no problem. You need a bigger cage . Pets are not cheap, and you need the appropriate housing before you run out and buy one. If you do not have the money for a new cage, you should wait until you do, rather then abuse your poor bird by housing it in an unfit cage.
Be patient, buy a big enough cage first, then save up for the cockatiel. Like the above user said, pets are not cheap, and they will pay the price because you didn't get the right supplies.

you can't make the door bigger. The cockatiel might go in on his won if you let him step off your finger onto a perch right by the door. Millet is a few dollars. Be careful as millet is a junk food like potato chips to us, so not an every day thing to give your bird.
