I currently have two budgerigars, and a cockatiel. I've had other budgerigars in the past along with a peach faced love bird. Sometime in the future I will be looking into getting another medium sized bird. At a local pet store, I noticed a beautiful kakariki, and fell in love with him.He made sweet little beeping sounds and let me pet him.
So, I went home and tried to do some research. They are from NZ, are a threatened species, have quiet voices and are amazing fliers. Right now, my cockatiel is extremely cuddly. He isn't much for playing. I feel that a kakariki would supply me with the games that my cockatiel lacks.
I'm okay with a bird that doesn't want to cuddle, but would rather play games and learn tricks.
I just want to know if anyone on here has one, and if they do, what can you tell me about them?
I had to look them up - I've never heard of them before, but they are beautiful parrots - if they are like most parrot/conures, they probably have their own personality, so I guess you won't know it's personality, whether it wants to play or cuddle, until you get one. The sure are gorgeous birds!
