can a lovebird and a parakeet live together in the same cage

i just got a male love bird and i have a female parakeet that is lonely since her partner assed away can i put them 2 together
NO! Never mix lovebirds and parakeets together in the same cage. Lovebirds can be very aggressive towards the parakeets and end up injuring or killing them. Plus, you'd scare the poor parakeets very much. A lovebird is much bigger than a parakeet and can do a great deal of damage to the much smaller parakeet. This will usually happen when you ' re not around. You certainly don't want to find any dead parakeets in your cage, so please don't house the two different species together. As for the lovebirds, make sure their cage is secure. Lovebirds are known as escape artists and can easily get out of an unsecure cage.

get another lovebird and parakeet, house lovebirds in one cage, and parakeets in another cage. That oughta do it. If not, both will be lonely, imagine someone stuck in a room with nothing but food and water delivered daily. SUckish RIGHT! so dont do that to birds/not accusing, just saying. i love animals alot so i just gotta say it.
Never ever house lone Lovebirds with any other species such as Parakeets and that includes Budgies.

Keep them in seperate cages near each other but keep at least 6 inches space between them, they will then have each others company, but never let them be to-gether, or else you will have one bird less.

It is also not adviseable to put a new Lovebird in with the current one unless you put them in seperate cages next to each for at least a month, then you must try to put them to-gether, but watch out for any aggresion from the bird that you put the new one into it's cage as they are very territorial.

You can put a new Budgie in with the current one as they tend not to be so aggresive to each other.

But mixing Lovebirds with any other is dangerous.
No but it sounds like a good sitcom
It depends. Birds from different species can be afraid of one another. Introduce them to each other on the same perch, or place the cages next to one another. Gradually try to get the birds close and see how they interact. It is very possible to get them to like one another. Hell, I know someone who keeps a macaw and a conure together! Talk about a mismatch, but those birds love one another. Just take it slow and if either show signs of aggression back off. Neither birds are aggressive. But species are highly social. If you take your time, and go slow, there is no reason these birds might not some day enjoy one anothers company. Try it. But NEVER just shuve one in the others cage and walk away. You need to be there in case one gets mad and bites out at the other so you can break it up. You never know. Good luck!
