I just want to know how old they can be.
With proper care, excercise, and nutrition, a cockatiel's lifespan usually averages 15 to 25 years, though some even make it into their thirties.
I have a Cockatiel in it's 32 year and is still fit and well, as an ex breeder I have friends who bought birds from me and they are averaging 20 years,
All my birds were fed on natural foods such as Seeds, Fruit, Veg, and Wild Grasses and plant seeds.
So as an average life span I would say 15 years
Many only see 4-6 due to poor diet and environment and stress but some see 20 and 30 with proper diet, care, and environment and no stress. Proper diet is the real key to a healthy bird though. The other things are very important too but the diet is the biggie.
