i know there are alot of colors, but my favorite has to be violet, i was wondering if you brred 2 blue ones is it very very rare to get a violet one, and wat about others colors? like white, green and yellow, will i get those colors if i brred 2 blue indian ringneck, because before i bred my budgies. green and yellow and we got a white one? will this be the same with a indian ringneck? sorry for the stupid question
kthanks
First, your question is Not stupid!!
But breeding to a specific color is of no use unless you know the previous genetic make up of your birds.
Breeding mutations can be a tricky task unless you know their previous genetic parents (in other words their pedigree)
You could produce any color and again you could breed normal offspring but they will be carriers of their parents color genes.
So unless you can trace the genetic make up of your birds you may or may not get what you want.it is all Luck.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com There are some good books on breeding color mutations and if you are so interested it may pay you to buy one.
So good Luck in your venture.
