this morning, i went out to feed my leghorn chicken and my cayuga duck, and i found a brown egg, either it got stained from mud or the duck laid it ... so my questions are what is the color of a cayuga egg and how much do male a females wiegh
Duck eggs are significantly larger than chicken eggs, twice or more the size. I looked up what color the cayuga duck's egg would be, some were brown, others were dark gray almost, and some even spotted. Overall, they appeared a dark brown. Also, some leghorns lay brown eggs, some lay white eggs. Has the chicken laid eggs before is this its first?
Cayuga ducks (male and female) weigh about 6 pounds.
Leghorn chickens lay almost white eggs and mud washes off so it must be your duck that laid it. I guess this type of duck lays brown eggs?
