when a battery chicken dies, does it get used to eat?

  ^ ^?? Xx
I'm not sure of your exact meaning, so the answer would be yes, and no.

If you are speaking of a hen that dies in her cage, then no we do not eat her. She if noticed would be discarded, and possibly depending on the company ground up into feed to animals, or even feed back to the chickens themselves.

If you are speaking of after the laying hens laying period is up, and when they take the hens to be processed, then yes we do eat them. They don't end up in our grocery store a chicken breasts (those are meat birds, raised specifically for meat) But, they do end up in school cafeterias, and processed foods such as canned soups.

they tend to go into dog and cat food but usually go into other poultry feeds, one reason why i make my own poultry feeds
