parakeet fast heart beat?

for the past 4 days, ive noticed that right after my parakeet flys and lands, her heart beats really fast so i have to put her back to her cage. Ive had her for 4 years and this has never happened before. I know that when parakeets are sick, they usually dont eat, but my parakeet still eats. Does anyone know whats wrong with her.
Sounds normal to me. If she is not showing any signs of illness, this is fine. This just happens because she's catching her breath, just like when we go for a run we might start breathing faster for air, or if we ran too much we start gasping for air. My bird does the same thing. After is is done flying he will get very skinny, breath hard, and his heart rate will go up but will soon return to normal. This is probably just now happening because your bird is getting older, and therefore exercise tires her out quicker!
I have a 8 year old budgie, he is quite tame and if i handle him too much in the avairy, he almost goes blind and starts to fly around crashing into things. once i have calmed him down he has a fast breath rate and heart beat. My advice is to stop handling him if it is too stressful.
She's probably just getting old and/or isn't used to flying, so her heart will naturally race.
