my conure figured out how to open his cage what should i do?

i went jogging and came home and my sun conure was walking around on the floor. i have a cat but luckily he just ignored the bird. i put him back in his cage, turned around heard a noise, and looked back and he opened the cage! this happened a few times and he's being stubborn. do you have any suggestions on how to make sure he doesnt do this?
My sun can get out of her cage also, they are sneaky little buggers. I use D Rings on the door and even the feeder doors. I think they are also called carabeenas or something like that. Its what rock climbers use on the ropes for repelling and stuff like that.

See the clip at the top of the bird toy get one like that and attach it to your birds door and cage.
Take a wire and wrap it tightly around the entrance but not so tightly that its stuck in there forever! Cause i don't think a bird can un wire the wire off of the door
latches and wire are easy puzzles for parrots, a pad lock is a sure bet as i've had this problem.
get a new cage or jam it shut or get a new bird and kill this one. i say one or two.
i had this problem with my parrot.

simple electrical tape did the trick, my parrot never figured out it was "chewy"
