okay every time when i take my sun conure out of the cage i put my hand next to her and she stands on my hand then she starts crawling up my arm then next thing you know shes on my shoulder.: (
Then when i put my hand out towards her when shes on my shoulder she try's to attack my hand.
What i to know is there a way to fix this??
The simplest way to keep her from climbing to your shoulder is to keep your elbow pointing down (sometimes referred to as "the Egyptian grip"), so she ' d have to climb down your forearm.
she likes your shoulder better because it is up higher, so she feels safer. The way to get her to stop, is to stop letting her get to your shoulder. As soon as she starts climbing take her back down. You will probably get bit a few times, but eventually she will give up on your shoulder and stay on your hand.
after picking the bird up, hold your hand above the level of your head and the bird will prefer the highest perch it has available. this pratice will eventuly result in the bird getting used your hand and in time will prefer your hand in any position.
