I have hatched out eggs fourteen days of age, but most prefer to not use eggs over ten days, as fertility starts to decline. Remember to pick clean, normal shaped eggs for hatching. Never wash an egg, as that will take of the protective coating on the egg, and leave it open for bacteria. If mud and such is present scrape it of with your fingernail. Also, store eggs around 50-60 degrees if possible. If your temperature drops below 40 your embryo will die. If the temperature hits around 99 your embryo will start to develop, and most likely will do so incorrectly and die.
Transportation is fine, as longs as the eggs have proper means of transportation. In fact shipping fertile hatching eggs is very common. Make sure your eggs are properly packed in egg cartoons, and in a stable place. They should be fine.
Best wishes,

maximum 12 days in a close dry refrigerator with 50-60 temperature. It can be transported to more than 1000km. In fact, it can be transported anywhere in the world as long as it is legal to the receiving country . as long as you have a proper egg crate and temperature.

In the US, fertilized quail eggs are transported normally from coast to coast, that is at least 2000 miles.
