my chicks are a little over 2 months old like 3 days over 2 months old to be exact when can i let them out of their cage without the other chickens pecking them and them running away?
put them in a pen or fenced in area so the others can see them but not peck. after a week or two you can let them in with the flock. theirs no real answer for what age because it depends on how they are introduced their size at that age and the disposition of the adult chickens. if you have nervous chickens then they will be not as nice to the chicks but calm gentle large breeds usually do better. the more space the better it will go. you can set up areas that the chicks can run under to escape the big chickens.
