Does anyone know what happens? Like, what they get fed, when, when they get killed, how many there are in a certain amount of space etc.? Xx
Quite a boring life. They live in a cage where they get no room to swing a cat. Not that they'd particularly want to swing a cat. Or swing anything for that matter. Then that little cage gets transported if they are no good at laying eggs, to a major slaughter house where its head will be cut off. It runs around for a few seconds with blood spurting from where its head would of been and then its lifeless body tumbles to the floor. Then its plucked and boiled and packaged up ready for us fat piggies to eat it.
Yum yum yum. Roast chicken.

Eggs are taken away from hens and sold in stores for food or are raised to be used as food. They're kept in wire cages and aren't given materials to build nests. They are given boring pellets to eat that contain drugs and bug killers in them. They give them drugs to make them grow too fast and do other things so that they get so big they can't even walk or stand. On big farms, hens are raised to lay eggs and they only live for less than 2 years. Chickens raised for food are slaughtered for meat when they're still a few weeks old. Some get their beaks cut off so they can't peck other chickens for more space in the cramped cage. If you ever saw a chicken truck, you'd see what they do to these poor chickens. I saw one thats head was sticking out the crates on the truck and all the wind was hurting it, forcing its little head back.
