Which bird is right for me?

When I move into my new house next year, I really want to get a pet bird! I've had animals all my life and currently own 2 cats and 2 rats.

I've owned budgies in the past but I'm not really interested in owning another one - I loved mine dearly but I've been hearing an increasing amount of bad things about them and am beginning to think that I just got really lucky with mine!

I want a bird that won't cost me crazy amounts of money. Obviously, I'm aware there will be costs involved but I'm not willing to spend hundreds upon thousands of dollars on the bird alone.

I want a bird that will be sociable and bond to me! I'm looking at a medium sized cage - not HUGE but not a little tiny one either ... But that'll really depend on what kind of bird I settle on.

I'd be able to spend about an hour a day with it, depending on how much time is suggested. I don't want one that will be too dependant on one on one time every day as there will be days that I'll have no free time - I don't want the poor thing to suffer just because of my schedule! pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

I thought I should do some research so that I'm not jumping into things next year when I get my new pet:)
I would also have to go with a dove.In my experience most of my doves have all loved me . You just need to realize that you need to spend a few minutes with them for them to become your best friend. They are very inexpensive and there are many different locations to buy them (i suggest from a breeder not pet store). a few places are pet finder, pet store, and even, this might sound a little strange but ebay.Ive gotten many hand raised healthy birds from eBay.Hope you find the perfect feathery friend for you!
a dove or a pigeon. they are really inexpensive birds to maintain, and they love to snuggle with you haha. and if you spread your time out, like snuggle with it for 5 minutes in the morning, and just pop in a few minutes here and there, it will be alot better that just 1 full hour out of your day.
There's actually a really cool quiz you can take that will tell you how compatible you are with each pet bird and what the best pet bird for you might be. I've put the URL in the source box.
Consider what space you have for a cage & playstand, time you can spend with it, and what you can afford for a cage, toys, food, and vet bills. Then you can look on petfinder.com.
a cockatiel would be perfect foer you
Sounds silly but a Dove or Pigeon can be great companions, look it up!
