i have two rare parakeets and at petsmart they put the rare parakkets in one cage and parakeets in another cage ... whats the diffrence of rare and normal ones?
The unusual colors on them make them rare .. Their parents are of different colors .. if you had noticed they would have been blue or white and yellow etc where as the normal ones in petsmart are green and yellow ..
Petsmart is just pulling your leg.
There are such things as Rare Mutations, which is usually color, but generally speaking they're just messing with the advertisement.
The most common colors are Green and Blue/white pied, but depending on where the store gets its birds, you could also have Sage green, Yellow pied, Lutinos (white or yellow with red eyes), Clearwings Or cinamons (parakeets whose markings are clear/gray or brown), and Dilutes (softer versions of green and blue).
I'm sure there's other variaties out there, but those are the most common.
Rare version would include Halfs (half one color, half another), and some I've seen recently have their feathers jutting out in odd spots around their neck and top of the head.
Its a pet shops way of saying .. .. you pay more for this bird because its differently coloured that the rest or because they dont know what kind it is.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com There is no rare budgies in a petshop. They just call them that to get more money for them or for people to buy from that cage over any others.
Rare have a different pattern/colour that's all the normal in link are NORMAL blue type and green type.all are same price as you stated.
