I answered this in another topic .. it is a Northern Flicker (yellow-shafted) . You SHOT IT !!!???? You totally broke the law, these birds are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. You should be fined and jailed for doing this. What is wrong with you!?

You shot it without bothering to find out what is was!? It could be a protected species! I can't really tell what it is, the pics are coming up really small on my screen.
