We have had a pigeon "hang out" in our garages for 2 days now. We read the tag number, in any order: AU SEC 22 2010. We want to help this pigeon. What should we do?

if you use the link below and follow instructions you can contact Larry about the bird the ring number is whats strange.10 should be year and 2220 ring number but as you say not in correct order the number will be in order after the number10 for year
you have to have the bird secured before you ring here is a link as to care of the bird all the bird might need is a rest food and water and can carry on home if injured then contact at once and also if you are close to the club above.

Google search your local pigeon fanciers association and give them the number
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com they sometimes will also collect the bird or take it to a local vet for further care and they can find its owner
Try talking to your local animal control department and ask them about pigeon registration. Also try the Game & Fish department. They usually have records of such things.:)
