I found an Injured Pigeon yesterday?

As I was saying I found an injured Pigeon yesterday, he or she looks okay lost a lot of feathers and attempted to fly but failed so I have put the pigeon in a plastic box with a metal cage over the top with a towel at the bottom . I put seeds and dead meal worm in a very small bowl and water in the other the Pigeon drank a little and ate at least half of the food, the Pigeon looks like it will live. What should I do next? And I am not taking it to the RSPCA as they will most likely put it down as it's a Pigeon.
if you were in new york this would be who to contact and they have a lot of rehab advice

EDIT SORRY thought were in the US if the bird is alive contact pigeon rescue UK who rescue urban pigeons which are injured in the UK after reading care infomation click on box top left area of site and get nearest centre to you you will have to contact them and they will let you know when to bring the bring the bird to them as can't collect themselves.

If you can keep it for awhile and give it a chance to grow it's feathers back, you can release it back into the wild. It will eat regular wild bird seed with sunflower seeds in it and would love some crunched up nuts - not so much on the worms. The bowl of water is fine, too - pigeons drink a lot of water. It would be great if you could keep it until it's well!
You don't say where you are or what type of pigeon it is, but if you're in a country where that type of pigeon is feral (not a native), then it will most likely be illegal for you to release it back into the wild.

Having said that, if it's lost a lot of feathers there's a good chance it's been attacked by a cat, in which case you need to get it to a vet. Puncture wounds from cat claws are often hard to see on a bird, but they get infected with bacteria, so antibiotics are needed.
Well, you did a good job, and as a kind hearted human you should take care of it untill it gets able to fly once again.

or if u really want to get rid of it, then place it some where safer on roof of your house, its survival will depend on its own luck
You should get rid of it before it gives you a disease or lice.

If you keep it, it will get used to humans and you will HAVE to keep it.
