How do i persuade my parents that a cokatial is a good indoo

Well I really want a Cokatial as a pet but my parents dont really like pets inside but how do i persuade them to know that they are a really good indoor bird and that they will be more tamed if they are down stairs near my bedroom because thats where i spend all my time really. and on the internet i hear that peoples cokatials live for more that 5 years the last time my cokatial lived outside and was on an seed mix diet what should I do. what food, supplies and everything i will need to keeping him for a very long time. I hope whoever is answering this that their cokatial has live for more than 5 years. Thankyou
first of all, you should never leave a cockatiel outside unattended open to predators.

tell your parents not to flush when they go to the toilet to check their poop,

when you get back from school put your finger out and tell them to step up,

buy them a cuttle bone and tell them to chew it,

feed them seeds

and give them broccoli

then after a week tell them you are willing to move that responsibility to a cockatiel

and as for the supplies you should get as big a cage as you can

get about 5 perches

get a cage that food bowls and water dishes attach to the outside of the cage

get a stand or table instead of putting him on the floor to prevent bugs getting into his cage

and their diet consists of 50% fruit and 50% seeds.

you could buy cheap packets of millet from your local pet shop

and get 3 different toys

i strongly do not recommend mirrors as they frustrate the bird and cause money

and remember that you might need to take him to the vet in the future

remember "if you cant afford the vet, you cant afford the pet
Cockatiel.
First of all coaktiels are very noisy and messy I would advise you to get a budgie as they are very easy to hand tame and look after also I have seven bugies have had the first three for six years.I have also had cockatiels they were too hard to look after making too much noises all the time and I had to clean the cage three times a week.Whereas budgies are quiet and dont make a lot of mess in the cage. Also my friend had one to and his parents got fed up of the loud noises in the morning and he had to get rid of them.
They are good pets if you put the time and energy into them, birds aren't like dogs and cats you have to bond to them so you will get bitten.Their not loud get a book on them that is the best way to get information, birds living outside really isn't a good idea in winter it's really cold and in summer it's really hot not to mention bugs, it leaves your bird to susceptible to diseases. It 's just not a good idea to do plus when the bird is outside it can be forgotten easily, 5 years is not a long time for a cockatiel, i think they can live 15 + years, they should be fed seeds, fruits, and veggies.I do not own a cockatiel but i have Parrotlets and i let them fly around my house birds need exercise , i trained them to fly back to me on command it was not that hard the where bonded to me because i spent a lot of time with them so they always wanted to be with me when they flew back i just added a command.I did all of this when i was 14 so im pretty sure you can do it too i learned how to do things on my own other people didn't help me, nor did i use the internet. What im saying is that it's not a hard thing to do.Your going to need a cuddle fish bone, it's a calcium supplement which birds don't get enough of especially if you have a female not enough calcium means becoming egg bound.Get a bird hut, toys to put in his cage they sleep in the bird hut he/she might not go in at first but it will eventually the same with trying a new food.Again just get a book about cockatiel's with Barron's at the publisher their books always tell you what you need to know.
If your parents arent going to allow to keep your pet properly, then you should avoid getting one until you move out of home.

Cockatiels can live for well over 20 years-a 5 year old 'tiel is only young!

Your parrot should be eating a diet of seeds, pellets, fresh fruits and veggies, as well as healthy cooked foods from your plate!

Cockatiels and any companion parrot should be kept in the house, in the busiest room possible where they can have constant access to people, and see everyone coming and going to be truly happy.

Parrots make excellent companion animals for the right people. They can be very loving, playful and interactive pets, can be trained, and can be a pleasure to own.

However-they are not the easiest pet to own. Parrots need plenty of time and interaction each day. At least 4 hours outside of the cage every day. It is best if they are socialised with plenty of people so they do not get as aggressive towards 'ousiders.' They live for at least 20 years, so they are a long term commitment, they are difficult to rehome, and dont take to long periods of time without their owner kindly.Without proper care, parrots can become aggressive towards people , can develop problem behaviours like screaming and feather picking, and can be the an absolute nightmare to own. Cockatiels are small, and make much less noise than their larger cousins-however-they still make plenty of noise.
