Do Indian Ringneck parrots always screech?

I have been thinking for the past 4 months of getting an Indian Ringneck (IRN).

They look like such great birds and I'v contacted a great breeder not too far away from

my house; he a proffesinol breeder.

When I went over and visited his house/avaris; the birds were going off their heads. They were screeching like hell! He said they do that because it's like an alarm becuase there not use to me.

I'm just wondering, do they always screech when you go near them. And how often do they do it?

I'm a begginer, I'v handled birds before though (just not mine).

I have been darting back and forth with my dessison on what bird to pick between the Ringneck and Cockotiel. The Cockotiel are quiet, great begginers pet, can mimick and whistle tunes.

I do LOVE ringnecks but don't know if I can take care of one. I have reasearched for over a year to

be clear.

I just need to know the FULL exsptadtions over what a Ringneck needs. I'm at work for 8 hours 5 days of the week and have free time when I come home. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

I have already bought a cage, so that's taken care of. Do they become aggressive, and become angry pets?

All these things I need to know. I love both but at the moment I can only by one. Is it hard looking after 2 birds?!

Please help me

I'm so confussed !!!!

Thanks
I got my Ringneck last year. He is a Indian Ringneck. Parrots screech when neglected or want attention. I would recommend a different breeder. If you see a ringneck with a ring around its neck, DO NOT GET IT! Rings mean that it is an adult. Only males get rings though. I got my ringneck as a baby and after a week he was my best friend. They will screech only when they want you to play. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING A RINGNECK! They are one of the best talkers and most intelligent birds in the world. I taught mine how to shake hands in 10 minutes! They are very nice and loving. Yes, do require ALOT of attention but it is worth it.

WARNING: DO NOT BUY 2 BIRDS! When a two birds meet, they usually become friendly. They WILL get attached to each other and begin to not like you. They may even bite you when you come near. Breeding birds loses more money then it makes so only keep one. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

They will get temporarily angry at you if you don't play with them for about 3 days. Try to play with them as much as possible.

They are a big commitment, but will be your best friend. I also advise you to get the book

Parrots For Dummies! It is great!

GOOD LUCK AND HOPE THIS HELPS !!!!!
ALL parrots and parakeets screech all the time and sometimes just for the hell of it, ringnecks are very noisy and their powerful beaks can literally take a chunk out of your finger if you are not careful, start with cockatiels, rosellas (beautiful birds) or kakarikis
