Lately, my quaker parrot screams and quakes for no reason .. particularily when he sees me with a plate of food. He squaks and screams flaps his wings around like he did when he was a baby bird, and nothing will get him to stop until the food is out of the room.
Does he want my food? My attention? Or is he just being annoying lol
He wants both some of that food you have and your attention as well try letting the bird have some and see if he settles down for you all solved.
It's possible he's afraid of the plate, but he probably wants your food. The flock is supposed to eat together and your food is presumably better than his (even if it's the same, it's better because it's yours, and also because you 're paying attention to him). I suggest that depending on what you're eating, you either give him a tiny bit or tell him "No." Our birds often go eat their own food when we've told them they 're not getting any of ours. At least that way the flock is all eating together.
You should also try teaching him a more polite way to ask for food (or anything else he wants).
I used to have a bird that did this! Was actually scared of the red coloured plate. Try it with a different plate . Goodluck
