I woke up and notice that my pet parakeet was trying to lay an egg yesterday. When I saw the blood I started to to get scared. I notice the the egg was broken inside of her and sticking out a little bit with well ... ..... I tried to pick out as mush of the egg as I could. The reason I'm asking for help is because the bird's intestines is sticking out (1/4 ") like it's inside-out a little. I cannot afford to go to the vet because I'm unemployed, and need some advise on what I should do, if there's any thing I can do. The bird (age 6) is eating and "using the bathroom" but she keeps picking her butt. She is shaking a lot too. Please help if you have any idea on what I should do and God willing if she lives, is there anything I can do to make her stop laying egg's because it seems to take so much out of her. Thank you for your time.
Your bird has suffered a prolapse and its life or death without a vet. What you have done so far has not helped and may well have made things worse.
Its not her intestines sticking out ..... its her egglaying parts. It wont fix itself and only an avian vet can save her now.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com You say you wont go to the vet? Then go dig a hole in the garden because she is about to die.
No budgie female over the age of four years should be given a nestbox or put with a male or allowed to breed and lay eggs. Why? Because any female over 4 years can either eggbind or prolapse.
Prolapse

OMG .. The best possible thing would be to take her to a vet because she could be suffering from internal bleeding ... you said her intestines are sticking out .. never a good sign, and is you said she is shaking a lot .... the best possible care would be to get her to a vet .. the egg could've ruptured her intestines ...
Call the vet, ask to speak to the vet. Tell the vet your issue. ask them if there is anything that you can do. you may have to pawn some of your things to pay for it. if you are unwilling to help him by taking the advice from the vet, you should probably end his suffering.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com i know its hard to think about, i am thinking what i would do in your situation. if i couldn't do anything; and i knew he was suffering, i would at least pay to have him put down peacefully in my arms.
