Why would my cockatiel be making a purring kind of whistle ?
My cockatiel just keeps making a purring noise and it is a really nice kind of whistle!
do you have a cat?
it could be mocking your cat.
or a similar whistle that you do.
my cockatiel used to yell IZZY, COME 'ERE! just like he heard me say to my hound.
he barked when she barked too. and rode around on her back like she was a horse...too cute.
Its hard to know what kind of noise your bird does without actually hearing it.
Though, I think I know what you mean. My Cockatiels do the same thing when they try to sing.
