Should a female canary have a nest year round?

Should a female canary have a nest year round?
I have a female canary in a cage by herself as well as a male in a separate cage. I want to know if the female should have a nest in her cage when she is by herself. I know that a female might lay eggs with out a male, im hoping the nest will stimulate her to lay eggs, this will tell me if the female really is a female. its not guaranteed. The male does sing so that certain. Should she have a nest year round?
Well. You don't want her to get into the habit of laying un-needed eggs, because it uses up energy and calcium. Unless your looking to breed, is it absolutley neccesary to see?
I suppose having a nest year round wouldn't hurt, would be a comfy place to sleep!
Any worthwhile canary breeder can sex your canary. They just blow on the feathers over the vent area and inspect. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
Why force your canary to lay eggs if it doesnt have to. I would not have a nest in the cage unless it was breeding season and you had paired them up.
Nests are not sleeping places.
