Hiya! I am buying three ducklings in the spring. (one rouen, one cayuga, one welsh harlequin)
I have been researching them for maybe 5 months now and every website I visit says a different type of light to warm a few ducklings.

So for 3 ducklings, what type light should I use?
infrared or not?
what watt?
how many bulbs?

We raised two ducklings and used an iridescent at 125 watts. It was not infra-red. But then we had them in the house, not outside or in a barn. Also, we had them in a good sized cage.

I would suggest you watch your ducklings, If they bunch up together under the light than they are chilled. If they go as far as they can from it, they are too hot.

I hope you enjoy your ducklings this spring. By far, ducks are my favourite animals to keep.
