Parakeet tail bobbing?
My parakeets tail is bobbing and i read online that it can be a respiratory problem but my parakeet doesn bob her tail when shes outside of the cage or right after she flies. She bobs her tail sometimes when shes in her cage but it doesnt bob fast. Im really confused if she is ok or not
Tail bobbing associated with respiratory issues is a very exaggerated definite up and down tail pumping movement not just a flit of the tail.
hope this helps

Please take your parakeet to your avian veterinarian or a local veterinarian as soon as possible. Though her tail bobbing isn't constant, it is in fact a sign of respiratory problems. Some owners underestimate the seriousness of tail bobbing in their birds, and are very upset when their pet passes away. If I were you, I'd take your parakeet to a vet now or tomorrow. If left untreated, your bird will die. I own 5 parakeets, and I don't know what I'd do if one of them were to pass away. I hope things work out for you and your feathered friend.
