How to deter a hawk from your yard area?
Just purchased a house in East TN & it has 2 hawks in area of my back yard. I have dogs 3lb chihauhau & a 10lb yorkie/poo. I was looking forward to being able to leave them outside in a 6ft privacy fence area for short periods of time. Need ways to keep a hawk from swooping into yard! Do owls work ???

The hawks will most likely move on in a few weeks or months. Just be sure to stay outside near the dogs until the hawks leave . Obviously the hawks have been finding food in the area, like squirrels, rodents, etc. When the food goes, the hawks will too.

Tiny dogs need protection, so you should stay outside with your dogs while they are pottying, and walk them on leashes for exercise. Other animals than hawks might also consider them as prey, such as coyotes and large dogs. Even feral cats might go after them, and badly frighten them.
