Hectic New Lovebirds?

Hectic New Lovebirds?
My family got a pair of Yellow-collared Lovebirds. They are scared of humans since they don't have any proper human contact. I was wondering if the pair is possible to socialize w/humans so they wont be crazy and frightened all the time by being petted or even hand fed. The downfall is that my family is unable to trim their feathers because they fly fast, they bite and they always alert each other. How do I get them closer to humans that they will actually play w/u? Need much info as possible

it is pretty much impossible to hand tame an older (older than a year) bonded pair. trust me, i have 8 lovies, including 3 pairs and 2 2 month old babies. i tried hand taming my first pair, and suceeded, but once they saw each other, it was back to being wild. what i did was, first, i separated them into two cages. food and water on opposite sides on each cage. then slowly, day after day i moved the cages apart. then after they wer across the room from each other. i completly separated them. so they couldnt c or hear each other. my house is kinda small so one cage was in the garage while the other was upstairs in my room. then i spent about 20 minutes each day each bird. sitting next to the cage with one of my hands inside the door with millet spray in my hand. i totally ignored the bird in the cage. i did this everyday until they would eat from my hand. i got them to get on my hand, but i was stupid and put them back in the same room and they went wild again. for wing clipping. call around ur local pet stores. someone is bound to know how to clip for u. i would do it but idk wer ur at. but i would get a small animal carrier from petco. they r in the rodent section. i capture my wild birds with a hand towel. you just stick ur hands in and u have to b fast, but slow at the same time, and calm and confident. if you wimp out, things go wrong. or if you dont want to hurt them, bring them to the place ur gonna get the wings clipped, in the cage and everything, if ur cage is small enough t do so. the ppl can show u how to clip and everything u will need. and if you decided not to hand tame. they will slowly get used to you walking around. and if for sur know they r boy girl and not siblings, u coulld also try breeding and hand feeding the babies. and keeping a baby and rehoming the adults. but for now, dont let them ust fly about the house cause ull never catch them and they can b sneaky and get out. also, if uve never had birds b4. dont try to tame them. it wont end well
