Yes! Variety is the essence of life, even for most of the types of birds typically kept as pets.

Try boiled egg, it's a great source of protein (easily digestible). I just slice the egg in half, shell and all and put it in a food dish or on the cage floor and they nibble all day. Bird seed is one of the poorest sources of protein to offer and low in calcium. You know who encourages pet bird owners to feed old, dry seed? The companies that sell old, dry seed.=:]

yes. cockatiels can eat barbicue chicken with bbq sauce too. They can eat everything except avacado, apple seeds, chocolate, and alcoholic beverages. also , people say you shouldn't give your bird human food, but they can get lots more protein and stuff that they won't get from their bird seed. I feed my green-cheek conures human food all the time and they're both happy and healthy. And for the first answer, it's different for birds. Think about hawks and eagles. They kill and eat birds all the time.

They have beaks, no teeth. I would say to never give your bird meat. I have not ever thought about if they could; Im unsure of that as Id never give my birds meat anyway.

And remember this; whats good for us may not be good for them .

I wouldn't recommend feeding any animal anything that you can't buy in the pet section at a Walmart or Pet Store for that specific animal.
