First, before you start going off and telling me that I shouldn't have brought it home you need to know that where I found it was in the middle of the busy road/street in a parking lot. Tons of cars drive there and a few actually ALMOST ran over it. My mom and I tried to push it towards the side a bit but it hopped a bit towards the road again - this happened a few times and the bird ALMOST got ran over AGAIN. A lady was helping us but she just left after the bird hopped onto the street again. It's now at home, eating some bird feed and water and in plenty of cushioned area as well as it being a heated or warm area. Now I want to return it but I don't know where because we didn't see any nest at all anywhere and the entire area we found it in is really busy with cars.....

ive just answered your other ? you say its in a busy are then its most likely a gold finch as they tend to nest in busy areas. and they nest in really small trees not really big ones there nest it about the size of a human hand. and is really hard to find they tend to nest were there is lots of activity so have a look were u found it for a nest and see if there r any other chicks in although the parents wont accept the bird back now anyways so you might be better to keep it a couple of days and see how it goes then you could ither keep it as a pet or even tame it or let it free the place u found it. you wont get into trouble you have saved a bird lol
